Through exploration across art forms we nurture playful, collaborative and innovative ways of thinking and communicating that supports children to expand their understanding of the world in joyful ways. The possibilities are endless.

Creative Explorers is an early years arts and wellbeing initiative designed to support children, educators and community. We allow for exploration and growth through creative experiences and opportunities that can enhance engagement, development and overall wellbeing.

We seek to nurture the needs of the whole child through creative exploration, while  supporting organisations to foster a culture of creativity and connection, with the potential to create lasting positive impacts on individuals and communities alike.

Workshops, Programs & Projects

We facilitate creative workshops, programs and projects for children in educational, community or cultural settings. These opportunities are designed to allow children to explore the wonder of creativity and artistic expression. We foster curiosity, creativity, connection, and overall development and wellbeing and support educators and community to observe and engage with ways that creative practice in the arts can be embedded in early childhood environments to enhance relationship-building, engagement and overall development.

Professional Development

Our workshops are customised to provide educational staff with creative approaches, inspiration, tools and insights, assisting them to enhance their work with children through the power of creativity and community connection. This not only enriches the learning experiences of children but also enhances educators satisfaction and professional growth. These workshops promote a positive mindset towards creativity and collaboration and its power to engage children and adults and their community through shared experiences.

Creative Consultation

Collaborating with cultural, educational and community organisations across the early years, allows Creative Explorers to extend its impact. By working together with partners, we can help to envision and create child-friendly projects, spaces and opportunities that promote creative engagement. This collaborative approach allows us to connect with the broader community, seeking to work with partners to support more widespread cultural benefits for children and families.

Our Approach

We respond to children's ideas, community interests and shared goals. We value creative process that facilitates personal discoveries and connections while reaching creative outcomes together. Here are some ways we work with children in their community.

Visual Arts

Children have the opportunity to experience various visual art materials and techniques while investigating topics and ideas of interest.  Children become more familiar with artistic forms and materials as well as artists, illustrators and authors and ways they can capture and share their own stories, experiences and ideas using art techniques. From drawing, painting, installation, photography, mixed media, collage, sculpture, printing and more children are encouraged to try new things and grow confidence, connections and build new skills.

Dramatic Play, Storytelling & Performance

Through enroling in imaginative and dramatic play children explore creative ways to express themselves through play, storytelling, theatre games, puppetry, performing, singing and movement. This supports children to express themselves, grow their confidence, imagination, social and emotional and physical skills in supportive, fun and collaborative ways.

Nature, Movement & Mindfulness

Connecting with nature and culture is a wonderful way to inspire creativity and enhance greater wellbeing in our bodies and minds. Children are supported to respond to their natural environments while connecting with their senses and each other in mindful and creative ways. We explore ways to connect with nature, ourselves and each other, to help regulate emotions, open our senses, connecting with our breath while growing our physical and emotional awareness.

Exploration & Inquiry

Working creatively is a wonderful way for children and their grown ups to learn about the world around them. Through inquiry and exploration children can research and discover their interests across not only the arts but how it connects with history, culture, science, the natural world and more. This approach is an important part of art making and the Creative Explorers experience, and helps to provide children with opportunities to grow their interests, share their observations and reflect on their discoveries while deepening their understanding and knowledge.
